The Information Technology industry has played crucial role in earning India global recognition. Besides substantial contribution to nation’s GDP, it has majorly contributed to community development, poverty alleviation, technological enhancements in agriculture, health care and other basic amenities. Major strides have been made in the disability inclusion space as well.
An estimated one billion or 15% of the world’s population lives with some form of disability or the other. This number is expected to increase globally due to ageing population, increasing chronic diseases and population growth. Accessibility and Assistive Technology can only have a larger role and market place than otherwise.
